Almost 19 years ago, Texas became our new home, having arrived originally from Toronto and Chicago respectively. We are the proud parents of two children, Sara and Josh. Two Labs and one little Jack Russell complete our family. Sharing Murray's passion for riding his Goldwing, Amy joined as a rider of her own 1100 Shadow.
2012 will celebrate 34 years of marriage, three years of friendship and riding with Chapter R, and a new adventure as Couple of the Year. Our new motto is: "Doing it R way"! Education will be a strong focus to promote safety for everyone. Our emphasis will be in getting everyone involved: participation fuels participation! We hope to bring a variety of riding and social events to our members with a blend of old traditions and new ideas to help keep Chapter R strong.

We live in far north Fort Worth, and have been married for 7 years. Between us we have 4 kids (ages 16 through 26) and 2 Golden Retrievers (Luke and Kona). Ross has been a part of Chapter R for 14 years; Liz has been a member for 8+ years. Having previously served in various staff positions, we look forward to serving as ACD’s and continuing to have fun with a great group of people. We hope that we can bring history, experience, creativity and fun to the table. We’re here to serve you, the membership, and welcome suggestions or comments on what we are doing right or wrong.

Gary started riding in his 20s, long before there were Rider Education standards. He learned a lot through the school of hard knocks, which included several unscheduled dismounts. Even then, he made a point to always wear a helmet. When he got back into motorcycling after a 20-year absence, he decided to take the MSF Basic Motorcycle Course.
In 2000, when we first started participating in Chapter R, Alice, who was very new to riding, was helped to understand the important role of a co-rider and safety gear. After she took and passed her MSF Basic Course in 2001, she got the bug to ride her own. Since then, she has received her Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Coach & Harley Davidson Rider’s Edge Instructor Certifications.
We have been participating with Chapter R since 2000 and a part of the GWRRA Rider Education Levels program since 2001. Gary received his Level 4 in the GWRRA Rider Education Program in 2003 and he currently has over 187,000 safe miles. Alice received her Level 4 in the GWRRA Rider Education Program in 2004 and she currently has over 153,000 miles.

Gillian:
I was born in a Scottish Castle (yes, really!!!) in Bridge of Allan, Scotland. I attended Glasgow University, studying French and Russian. I have been married to Cliff for 31 years. We have two daughters, Stephanie and Natalie. Stephanie and her husband Lee live in the UK with their daughter (our grand-daughter), Chloe, age 4. I worked in the Arrest Team for UK Border Control before moving to US in March 2005. I currently work as a Quality Control Specialist for AHRQ, and for University of Michigan Institute of Social Research as a Field Interviewer. I do not ride a motorcycle - I am happy as a passenger. I am looking forward to the new riding year with all my friends in Chapter R.
Cliff:
Born in Newcastle England in xxxx well let's not say when. Spent 23 years in the British Royal Navy as a nuclear submariner until 1995. Lived and worked in Scotland until 2004 when I was offered the position of engineering instructor with De La Rue Cash Systems based in Irving Texas. Arrived here in Oct 2004, Gillian and Natalie arrived March 2005. Our oldest daughter Stephanie is married to Lee and I have a 4 year old grand-daughter called Chloe, they live near Cardiff in Wales. I Live in Flower Mound. Have been riding bikes on and off since 1974. Goldwing owner since 2007 and rode to Daytona for bike week 10 days after purchase. Black bikes are best. Thoroughly enjoy being a member of the Chapter R family and am really looking forward to serving the members as Event Co-ordinator on the staff this year.

We started riding with Chapter R in 2003. However, this was not our first experience with GWRRA. Jim’s Dad and Mom had been riding with GWRRA since 1981 and we were not strangers to the wonderful friendships that come with being a part of GWRRA. When we bought our first wing, Jim’s dad automatically recommended Chapter R. He said it was the best chapter in Texas and boy was he right! We have been riding with the group ever since. We have also been active in the staff, including Web Master, ACD’s, and CD’s. We have been too 32 of the lower 48 states on our wings and hope to get all 48. We always are out to have a fun time riding and hope to see you at the next ride.
